Markie Proschaska
Markie works with the 4k/5k kids. She grew up in Muscoda and graduated from Riverdale. She has always had a lot of family in Fennimore, so it’s no surprise that she moved here and met her husband, Logan. We have been married for 10 years now, and have 4 beautiful children! I love spending time with my littles and teaching them about the word of God. It’s been so fun seeing them every Sunday, and hearing the different things God is doing for them each week. I’m very excited to continue that this year!
Holly Straka
Holly lives in Fennimore with her husband Ken and has two boys Jude (11) and Tommy (9). She works at Southwest Technical College as the Business & Industry Services Coordinator. Her family joined FUMC nine years ago and she has been teaching Sunday School for seven years. Her favorite part about Christian Education is Vacation Bible School as she loves seeing all the energy the kids bring to church.
Cara Burkum
Cara Burkum is the 3rd grade Christian Education teacher. She was born and raised in Dyersville, Iowa and in 2010 moved to Fennimore, joining FUMC. Her husband, Nate, and her started a family and moved to Belmont in September 2016. They now have 4 boys and you may often see or hear them in church on Sundays. I joined the Christian Education team and have enjoyed filling little hearts and minds with God’s love ever since.

Krista Demo
Growing up, Krista attended Christian school from grades 1-12. Then, she went to a Christian college. She is married, and has two boys. Their family joined FUMC in 2016, and she started helping with Christian Ed in 2017. Krista teaches the 5th and 6th graders. Her favorite part of class is reading and discussing scripture. The most exciting time of the year for her is when the 5th and 6th graders perform in the Christmas and Easter programs.
Brandee Lendosky
Brandee is originally from Minnesota, but happy to live here now after meeting her husband, Steve and getting married in 2001. Steve and Brandee have two kids here on earth, Lucas and Peyton, and they have a son, Derek that watches over them from Heaven. They became members of FUMC in 2020, but have been actively coming since 2018. She started with Sunday School and felt a call to work with confirmation as a way to further her own faith journey. Her favorite thing about working with the students is watching them grow and create their own faith stories.
Marissa Klais
Marissa has grown up attending FUMC and was confirmed into the church in 2009. She has been married to her husband, Blaine since 2020. This is her second year teaching confirmation. She is excited to watch the kids grow in their faith as well as continuing to grow her spiritual journey. She taught Sunday School, helped with VBS in the past and had the opportunity to mentor two previous confirmation students. She really enjoys being active in the church, so when she was asked if she would be willing to help with confirmation she felt like it was something God led her to do. She feels so blessed to call FUMC her church family!
